Step out of the box while wearing these shoes…

24 Apr

Refinery 29 recently did a post on alternative wedding shoes- and I loved them all. Call me stereotypical, but I love shoes. Flats, wedges, boots, stilettos- I’ll take them all. There is no better way to add flair and personality to your wedding attire, while still remaining classical with a white dress, then adding some kick-ass shoes. Here are some of my favorites featured by Refinery…

And here are a few other shoes I’d gladly rock…

Ruche

My shameless excuse to show off my new amazing heels from Aldo- can’t wait to take these puppies out for a spin.

What shoes do you plan on wearing on your big day? Will you step out of the box in something fun and funky. We would love to see!!

We love Chalkboards…

4 Apr

It’s no secret among my friends and family that I have a slight (ok, huge) obsession with chalkboards- I have two in my apartment! So of course I react with pure excitement at seeing other people incorporating chalkboards into various aspects of their events.

 Could this be any sweeter…

I love you much / most beautiful / darling / more than anyone / on the earth / and I like you / better than every / thing in the sky.

Hung on a tree in this Valentines Day wedding shoot from Green Wedding Shoes.

Caroline and Andrio used a chalkboard as a backdrop for the ceremony and the later as a photo booth backdrop. They also incorporated chalkboard-like features in other areas like these super cute seat place marks.

My favorite use of chalkboards is probably from this wedding in which the couple used it for the seating arraignments. I love the gorgeous frame on the board as well as the cute flower accents.

Here are some of my own chalkboard uses.

I would love to be able to paint a whole wall using chalkboard paint. Imagine the possibilities. How do you feel about using chalkboards- in the house or on your special day?

The Cream Event 3/1/2012

1 Mar thecream

The Cream Event (formerly known as Hitched) is back in LA. and I can hardly contain my excitement! The Cream is a curated show put on by the amazingly talented ladies of Bash,Please and the list of vendors is insane.  I can not wait to report back to you with all the details. With so many amazing people making this event happen it is hard to say what I am most looking forward to. One without a doubt is a fashion show from BHLDN, a night of beautiful displays put on by some of my favorites in the business and of corse photo booths, dancing, and drinks just to name a few more.

If you are a bride in the LA area and have not heard of this event somehow, don’t stress!  You can still purchase tickets here.

I hope to see you there!!
